Chief Executive Officer & Scout Executive, Alamo Area Council of Boy Scouts of America
Michael de los Santos, a South Texas native and graduate from St. Mary’s University School of Business, serves as Chief Executive Officer and Scout Executive at the Alamo Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. de los Santos coordinates the efforts of over 40 scouting staff professionals and 7,000 adult volunteers who serve a 13 county area in South Texas to bring the Scouting experience to over 28,000 youth.
De los Santos began his professional Scouting career 18 years ago as an intern at the Alamo Area Council and, since then, has been in service to the Boy Scouts of America in ever-increasing levels of responsibility. Prior to his current position, de los Santos served successfully as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Field Services at the Grand Canyon Council, BSA, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Michael is building a home just north of the Castle Hills area where he will reside with his wife Elizabeth. He is an active member of the Barshop Jewish Community Center and attends St. Matthews Catholic Church. He is also a SAMMinistries volunteer, Delta Sigma Pi Alumni, and getting involved with the Downtown Rotary Club of San Antonio.
Although a self appointed “workaholic”, Michael does enjoy cooking, watching movies, playing golf, and spending time with family.
