Tom C. Frost, Jr.
After well over a half century of service, including 26 years as Chief Executive Officer, Tom Frost became Chairman Emeritus of Frost. A native San Antonian, he is the fourth generation to oversee the banking, insurance and investment company founded by his great-grandfather in 1868 now with more than $28 billion in assets, over $34 billion in trust, advisory and brokerage assets and 126 offices throughout Texas. He had experience in all aspects of the business and as president of local, state and national banking associations. He was educated at San Antonio Academy and Texas Military Institute. He graduated from Washington and Lee University Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce.
Tom Frost has dedicated much of his life to civic endeavors from education, healthcare, cultural arts, agriculture and economic development plus service as Senior Warden and vestryman at Christ Episcopal Church where he has been a member for well over 80 years.
Frost has received numerous recognitions, including Honorary Doctorates from Austin College, Our Lady of the Lake University and the University of the Americas. He was awarded the Aztec Eagle which is the highest honor accorded by the Mexican government to a non-citizen of Mexico. He was a former Chairman of the Board of Governors of the YMCA and a past red triangle recipient.
He and Patricia Holden Frost, also a native of San Antonio, have been married for over 64+ years. They have four sons, fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
