Fifth Generation Texan from Kingsville, TX

 

Tres Kleberg, is a 5th generation Texan, a native of Kingsville, TX, a graduate of Texas Military Institute and Trinity University.

Tres is the managing partner of SFD Enterprises, LLC, a private family investment management firm, for 30 years. He is a graduate of Trinity University with a BS degree in Political Science and the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

He joined Frost Bank’s executive training program after college and became a trust and business development officer and then a commercial loan officer.

Mr. Kleberg served on the board and Audit Committee of the Abraxas Petroleum Corporation for 16 years and was a director and served on the Audit Committee of Kleberg First National Bank.

He served as a director and a member of the Investment/ Finance and Compensation Committee of the King Ranch, Inc.

He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Trinity University and sat on the Finance Committee for more than 25 years.

Mr. Kleberg is active in the Downtown Rotary Club, the Navy League Alamo Chapter, Association United States Army, and The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. He was honored as the recipient of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce 2000 Freeman Award, the San Antonio Business Hall of Fame in 2004, and inducted into the San Antonio Livestock Exposition Hall of Fame in 2013.

He is also a current member and past chair of the board of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition Education Fund, Inc

Mr. Kleberg was appointed to serve as the civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army Texas/South in 2008.

In addition, he serves on the development board of The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and on the Chancellor’s Advisory Council of The University of Texas.

He is also a trustee of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation.

He is a member of numerous civic, social and charitable organizations in the City. He is married to Olive Anne Musgrave, has 3 grown married children who all reside and work in San Antonio, and 8 wonderful grandchildren.

I took early retirement in 1995 from Kodak and I have been in the real estate business since then. During my Kodak career my family lived in six states and we owned thirteen homes. I held positions as Food Trade Manager, Attractions Manager for Florida, Director of Sales Promotion, National Account Manager to HEB Grocery Company and National Sales Manager – US Military – Worldwide. In the twelve years since I retired from Kodak, I’ve been in the real estate business. My entry into the business was through two major agencies; one a local upscale boutique company and the other a very large local operation of a national franchise. I found both (plus most others in the business) to be more oriented towards gross sales and less towards taking care of the needs of the consumer. As a result, I formed my own company. I have three agents besides myself in the company and two staff personnel. Approximately ninety percent of our business comes from direct referrals plus we represent all of the relocating employees for three corporations. Each week I host the area real estate show, Real Estate Focus, on NewsTalk 930 KLUP, Saturdays at 11:00am. The show also streams live on my web site , http://www.HeartofTexasRealty.com and on http://www.KLUP.com. In addition, Bjorn Dybdahl, owner of Bjorn’s Home Entertainment, http://www.Bjorns.com and I host the San Antonio Movers and Shakers Show that airs at 10:00 am each Saturday from the same station and web sites. The real estate show deals with area real estate information and the SA Movers and Shakers show honors the education, business, civic, and public leaders who keep the entrepreneurial spirit alive in our city.
