Marcel previously served the San Antonio community as the Vice President for Economic Development at the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce He held a number of assigments while at the SA Chamber for a full decade.
Marcel’s past experiences include working as an independent contractor and owner of MLJ Enterprises where he provided sales and marketing services to San Antonio area businesses; serving as Director of the Americorps Program at the George Gervin Youth Center in San Antonio; and working as a part-time broadcaster at WOAI radio in San Antonio, where he performed live news broadcasts, wrote copy and prepared story packages for weekend news updates.
Marcel is a native of Detroit, Michigan, and has lived in San Antonio for nearly three decades. He majored in Communications and graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
